SOMALI MARINE SOURCES COULD BE PRESERVED BY MEANS OF PIRACY ABDI AHMED DIGALE
Somali marine sources could be preserved by means of piracy Abdi Ahmed Digale (Digale)
Since, the collapse and disintegration of the Somali central government during 1990, the sea lanes of Somali became international water through which enormous ships from variety countries across the global sail with out permission. Those foreign ships are themselves sea pirates to Somali Sea water because they loot and take out whole natural sources and living creatures inside the sea such as multiple kinds of fish which can not be found elsewhere but available in the Somali sea water. The foreign ships which I may describe as sea pirates do not collect only the marine sources but also discard and leave there waste products and poisonous elements which may seriously affect and destroy the lives of whole living creatures and even the land living people near the shore.
Thus, the outstanding question is that how can Somali marine sources be protected from western pirate ships looting the fish ?the answer is that Somali fisher groups must be supported acting as pirates because pirates cab be answered by pirates, other wise the sources will be eradicated and the sea will experience with eradication. moreover, in accordance with the international law every countries which is not land locked has right to control about 370 km from point of its shore towards high sea water, hence no single ship can sail through the water without permission or the flag of Somalia. Though, those foreign ships sailing over Somali sea lances claim that they are transporting goods to different countries as business trade or relief goods but few ones are business ships while others come to there to loot and pick up the maritime sources.
Although, there were some Somali personal war lords who got agreements with some foreign pirate ships receiving from them small money and allowed them to take out huge fish yet thousands of foreign ships travel to there without any approval. Furthermore, many freelancer journalists discovered that the fish being used in Canada, Britain, Italy, Spain, France and America are fished from Somali water without any cost, thus Somali sea marine creatures can be protected by means of piracy. Also, Somali Territory Sea is a beautiful and wonderful shore which covers around 3327 km and full of natural sources but misfortunately no central authority to protect this inheritable asset. therefore, Somali fisher men groups are committed to take over the control of their sea lanes as much as they can and in accordance with the international law they are absolutely right to hijack and attack every ship sailing through their sea water without allowance.
Anyhow, the state may loose its government but it does not loose the sovereignty thus country is defended either by government or groups and Somali fisher men are right to maintain the protection of the sea. Europeans, particularly Italy sends its mafia ships to Somali shore lettering their poisoned elements and picking out all the useful creatures inside the water. Although, the existence of Somali life depends of pastoral or semi pastoral life 60% yet the natural resource of the sea is crucial for the people. When the Somali central authority was in service if any foreign ship came to the sea illegally he would be fined amount of $ 700 also but if it attempted to come back again it would be immediately sentenced.
